With reference to your call at this Office on the 30th May, I am directed by Mr. Secretary Long to inform you that as it is understood that you do not desire to return to Hong Kong under present conditions the Crown Agents for the Colonies are being instructed to cancel your passage after the 19th June.
Your leave of absence will be extended with salary for two months from the 9th August, and the question of any further extension will be reconsidered towards the expiration of this period.
1. You will be at liberty to undertake temporary employment within the limit of your second leave of absence, but you should give short notice as will enable you to leave any temporary employment on short notice.
